So What Should I Wear For Thanksgiving?
Hello EDYNKEI readers!
Ok so lets address the elephant in the room… who made that rule that we need to dress all fancy just to stuff our faces full of food until we think we are seriously going to be sick! I have vivid memories as a child where of my mom yelling “Maren DO NOT get anything on your dress before we get to your grandmas house for Thanksgiving dinner!!” Lol oh the good all days. Now that I am an adult and my mom no longer dresses me for holiday occasions I often get that anxiety of what to wear creeping into my body. Luckily when I turned 18 I developed this (probably very unhealthy) relationship with my bff Pinterest! I would always look for new ideas of how to pair things together, and what would be the most comfortable thing to wear and hide what looked like I was pregnant in my first trimester with a food baby! So here is my go to guide for how to dress for Thanksgiving.
Stay far far away from high-waist jeans! Yes they are dang cute and super stylish but girlfriend…that covers all of your stomach where your newly added thanksgiving feast will be hanging out. If you wear high-waist jeans you will probably end up unbuttoning them. Have you ever heard the term “Headed to Thanksgiving dinner, time to break the fat pants out”? Well girl these are not they! Try wearing some low rise jeans, elastic waist or side zip pants, or even those heavenly sent leggings! If you want to look classy and dressy in some pants try these ones from EDYNKEI! instead of wearing them with a short sleeve try pairing it with a white turtleneck like this one!
Ok so now lets talk about all the cozy things! If you don't want to go with something tight because you are planning on consuming a lot of food, I would go with a chunky sweater or layer a loose top with a cardigan! I personally like the cardigan option because lots of times you are with a lot of family and since who ever is hosting has probably been cooking all day it’s likely that it is going to be very toasty in the room. If you are wearing a layered outfit you can take off a few layers too cool down instead of wishing you wore something else. If you are planning on having a small Thanksgiving with your little family or with just your significant other, a nice sweater would be an amazing option! Try pairing a jewel toned sweater with some black jeans and heeled booties! This gives you a classy look while still keeping you comfortable! Here are a few sweater and cardigan options we have at EDYNKEI!
On Wednesday’s Cardigan in Pink
Jules Chenille Sweaters (Multiple Colors)
There are honestly so many more options you could choose from but these are just a few of my favorite! (some are pictured below)
It’s time for tops! Somethings a beautiful blouse and some good jeans are all you need for Thanksgiving, but lets not forget to arrive instill in a fancy as freak coat! The thing is faux fur coats do not have to cost an arm and a leg and if you find a quality one that is so so cute girl BUY IT!!! You arrive in a fur coat and when you go inside and take it off.. BAM your still looking mega gorgeous because that top is killer! Try layering a long sleeve mock neck under a denim jacket or lets go all our with the blouses and a cheetah print coat! Here are some of my current favorites!
Ruffle My Sleeves Top in Black
These are just a few of my current favorites but trust me when I say there are A TON more!! I have put pictures of each of these items below!
And now for the Holiday classic… Dresses!! Something I have found that says hello holidays and hello comfort are loose fitting dresses! A flannel dress is absolutely perfect for this time of year! Also body con dresses that are colorful or a neutral like black or grey are great as well! These dresses say holidays to me when I look at them.
Tie Me Down Plaid Dress in Grey also available in red
My Darling Burgundy Lace Dress more colors available here
And like I mentioned before there are tons of options these are just. the ones I think of first when I think holidays!
